Frequently Asked Questions
Though every person’s in-home care situation is unique, there are some questions we hear often. If you need further help, please contact our office.
What Are Your Staff’s Qualifications?
We employ RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and experienced caregivers, then we provide thorough hands-on training. We run background checks on all our employees, and they are all fully insured before entering any home.
Will My Insurance Cover Some of the Costs of In-home Care?
We are a private pay company; however, some long-term care insurance policies provide reimbursement for our services. If you have questions about working with your insurance company or want to discuss payment options, please give us a call.
How Do I Know What Services Myself or My Loved One Needs?
During our free in-home consultation, we will do an assessment and work together with you to determine what services will best support your needs. For situations that require more medical attention, we will schedule an assessment with our nurse before we begin services.
Do You Provide 24-hour Care?
At this time, we can provide services Monday-Friday from 7am-7pm. We do work closely with other agencies who provide nights and weekend services and are happy to coordinate with them to provide the staffing that you need.
How Much Notice Do You Need to Start Services?
Our availability is based on our current schedule and staffing. However, typically we are able to start services within one week’s notice.
What Is Your Cancellation Policy?
We kindly ask for 24-hour notice for cancellation of services.
Do You Provide Transportation to Doctor’s Appointments?
Yes! We are happy to provide transportation and assistance to any appointment. Please call and book in advance to be sure we have availability.
Do You Provide Respite Care?
Yes, if your caregiver is going out of town or needs a break, we are happy to fill in temporarily until they return. We also can be “on call” for appointments and other various occasional needs that arise.
I only need help grocery shopping once per week. Is that enough to start services with you?
Yes! Some of our clients only have one or two visits per week. We are very flexible and happy to accommodate your schedule as best we can.
Where Do You Provide Service?
We help clients throughout Marquette County, including Negaunee, Ishpeming, Harvey, Skandia, and Gwinn. However, if you need home care services in another area of the Upper Peninsula, we can provide references for trustworthy caregivers in your area.
